Dedicated to enhancing the safety and performance of terminal truck operators.

Terminal trucks are in wide use in the USA and are commonly found in cargo yards or warehouse and intermodal facilities. More specifically, they are defined as a semi-tractor intended to move semi-trailers. But they can also be referred to as terminal tractors, shunt trucks, spotter trucks, spotting tractors, yard trucks, yard dogs, yard goats, yard horses, yard jockeys, yard hostlers or even yard mules.

More importantly though, OSHA defines these trucks when used off-road, as Powered Industrial Trucks.  Under OSHA standards 1910.178 and 196.602, they require operators of these vehicles to have training per these standards.

WHO IS TTOSC?

The TTOSC was formed to create accreditation standards and content for Terminal Truck Safety and Operator Driving Instruction and to increase the consistency in positive training outcomes.  We are dedicated to promoting and maintaining safe driving standards and a professional image among drivers of terminal trucks.

The TTOSC is designed to grant public recognition for specialized programs of operator training and safety instruction to programs that have met established qualifications and standards as determined through initial and periodic evaluations.
